A month after the U.S. entered World War II, Kalamazooās Gibson Guitars brought in dozens of women to fill in for the men who had left the factory for the military. For years, Gibson kept their workforce of women a secret until a guitarist and writer stumbled upon a mysterious photograph taken during the war.
The fundraiser featured a performance of Lisa Mackieās commemorative song āKalamazoo Gals,ā which is available to view in full here.
