In response to increasing food insecurities and uncertainty around SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits due to the federal government shutdown, the City of Kalamazoo is hosting a food drive to help meet the community need. Donations will benefit Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes.
The public is invited to participate by dropping off food items at Kalamazoo City Hall during regular business hours, beginning Wednesday, November 12 through Thursday, November 20. Loaves & Fishes provides a food and fund drive checklist that contains a food wish list. Donations will be picked up at Kalamazoo City Hall on the day following the conclusion of the food drive on Friday, November 21.
City of Kalamazoo staff are welcome to participate and drop off food items at the following locations:
Kalamazoo City Hall, 241 W South St.
Rose Street Offices, 245 N Rose St.
