Here are the meeting highlights for the April 11, 2024 Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education meeting. The Board welcomed students from Lincoln International Studies School, 5 students from the Loy Norrix Key club and 2 time all state athlete Tayla Dillard from Kalamazoo Central. The Kalamazoo County Excellence in Education Awards were announced. The Superintendents Office featured directors of Elementary Ed, Secondary Ed, and overall Curriculum as they reviewed a variety of Enrichment programs available to eager and accomplished learners. Summer School and Safe Summer Programs are being developed to maintain student involvement, education, and support. The Community remains vocally concerned about the exclusion of secondary staff from education grant funding.
