Project Pipeline Kalamazoo

From July 23 to July 25, the Detroit chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) will host Project Pipeline Kalamazoo at Western Michigan University. This free summer camp introduces youth ages 12-18 to architecture through hands-on, real-world experiences. Throughout the 3-day camp, the students will work alongside professionals in the field to create 2D drawings and 3D designs for an existing site. At the end of the camp, they will present their project to the public, including city members, WMU staff, and the developer running the project.

Co-Director of Project Pipeline Kalamazoo, Nadine Rios-Rivas, expressed, “…the beauty of this camp is that it’s meant to reach those that wouldn’t normally or traditionally have access to STEM programs.”
